About
Cabu:ff at CeOS (Capture & Build: Facts & Formats) is an innovative hub hosted by the Center for Ocean and Society (CeOS) at the University of Kiel, Germany, which aims to create high-quality media and virtual reality content to foster data driven dialogue between science and society. In contrast to traditional one-way communication strategies, we emphasizes the development of content specifically designed to initiate dynamic, collaborative engagement, thereby improving the quality of scientific outreach and public participation.
The tools developed by Cabu:ff are not only informative but also interactive, encouraging feedback, discussion and co-creation. This unique approach is particularly beneficial in facilitating knowledge sharing in complex inter- and transdisciplinary projects, where collaborative problem solving across different societal sectors is essential. We supports scientists in developing tailor-made communication strategies that bridge disciplinary boundaries and enable the effective dissemination of research results to diverse audiences.
By combining innovative storytelling techniques with advanced media technologies, including virtual and augmented reality, we provides an enriched experience that fosters deeper understanding and engagement with scientific topics, with a strong focus on geo- and marine sciences. With its focus on interaction and collaboration, Cabu:ff is well positioned to strengthen the dialogue between scientists, policy makers, stakeholders and society, ultimately contributing to the co-creation of knowledge and solutions for pressing global challenges such as geohazard awareness, ocean sustainability and climate change.
